Introduction:

The Directorate of Communication and Public Awareness (Publications) is considered one of the vital sections of Abu Ali Ibn Sina University of Medical Sciences. Its primary responsibility is to reflect the activities of the university and its affiliated hospitals in accordance with governmental laws and regulations. This directorate consistently strives to enhance the visibility and credibility of Kabul University of Medical Sciences through the organization of meetings, seminars, conferences, and cultural and social events, as well as by disseminating information via various media outlets.

The Directorate is tasked with the preparation and organization of publication-related activities concerning advancements and achievements, including the coordination of meetings, conferences, seminars, workshops, and communication with media to inform the esteemed public about Kabul University of Medical Sciences. It aims to foster awareness and serve as a bridge between the university and the community.

Additionally, the directorate provides information about the university's activities through printed and visual materials, producing and disseminating publications such as newsletters, press releases, magazines, and reports to enhance public awareness.

Objectives and Services:

• To oversee technical and technological services to ensure the operational efficiency of departmental systems.

• To prepare a comprehensive operational framework for public communication and access to information in alignment with institutional objectives.

• To supervise the preparation of publication materials (medical magazines, lecture notes from faculty) and necessary forms for university departments.

• To organize events, meetings, and press conferences at Kabul University of Medical Sciences.

• To facilitate the dissemination of reports and press conferences through mass media and arrange interviews between leadership members and media representatives.

• To transfer professional skills through workshops, seminars, and on-the-job training for affected personnel.

• To manage performance evaluations, identify training needs, and enhance the capacity of personnel and relevant departments.

• To establish working relationships with all media outlets for the distribution of revised reports.

• To coordinate with relevant departments to implement predetermined objectives.

• To maintain communication and coordination with governmental institutions, religious scholars, and various community sectors to inform them about university activities.

• To raise awareness about the activities and achievements of Kabul University of Medical Sciences through social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, and the university's website).

• To coordinate with all affiliated hospitals of Kabul University of Medical Sciences to reflect their activities and achievements on the university's website and social media pages.

• To prepare and design all publication materials such as brochures, photographs, reports, notices, and announcements.

• To produce video reports from relevant sections of the university and affiliated hospitals.
